so i am doing a very cool trip and i thought i would give blogging a try. i will try to keep up somewhat regularly with photos and entries. the trip that i am talking about is with Ride for World Health (check out our website at www.rideforworldhealth.org) and i guess officially starts today. though we have been working on the various prep work for some time (fundraising, training, and organizing) i am excited to finally be getting started.
this first blog comes from a special location - san diego, california. after 35ish hours of driving from columbus, we have finally reached our starting location. over the next few days, we will start riding as a team, finish organizing lectures, figure out some basic bike stuff and have a few exciting events organized by Lara and the SD Pauley family (thank you so much Lara!). we reached sd and are hosted by the Jewish Community Center for the time we are here with a place to stay, eat and a place to shower.
i think i am too exhausted to talk in detail, but i think we all somehow had a good time. In our van, we had nate (dogg) and beck from osu and jen from ann arbor. the trip was luckily uneventful except for a crazy lightening/hail storm, gallons of coffee, diverse music (even ace of base made a showing) and a dozen or so pit stops. i think its time for some sleep. night.

no trip is complete without ace of base.
Anuj!
I have some recommendations from a non-rider to rider (so it's very sound advice):
1) Don't ride with your mouth open. Bugs, though good in protein, will seriously wreck up your smile.
2) You should grow a cross-country beard like Tom Hanks did in Forrest Gump (it'll be great!)
3) Document above-mentioned beard growth through this blog
3) Don't let anyone tease you about the spandex (but don't tell Lalit and Nadia I said that)
Wishing you all the best!
