rain delay

jefferson city - capital of missouri

left sedalia, MO knowing we had to book it to get to jefferson city prior to the storms. things were going well at the start then quickly the likelihood of a rainout increased. first the highway we were supposed to turn on was poorly marked causing a waste of about 10 miles then the bridge we were supposed to cross was impassable. did about 62 or so miles of steep rolling hills into lunch when the thunderstorms started forcing us to call it.

today was one of those days that i was not at all upset about stopping early. the entire day it seemed like we had some sort of headwind or crosswind and my legs started to hurt around 20 or so miles. the terrain was beautiful the entire time but a few days of these continuous hills are more painful than a couple really big climbs. i think i was just pooped.

arrived in jefferson city to first united methodist church with great showers, internet, a full kitchen, laundry and games to play. an A+ accommodation - probably the best part is walking out the back door and seeing the capital building a few hundred yards away.
